Summer is here! And with warm weather comes bright colors! Er… right? While I do love my fuchsia F+C Mini City, I think I might be ready to try something new for Summer 2010. I heard that neutrals were supposed to be really hot this year, so I figured why not. And with that, I was off to check out all the neutral handbags this season has to offer. And do you know what I found? A wide variety of styles in everything from clean off-whites to touchable taupes. If there was ever a such thing as a “neutral rainbow”, this season definitely has it! Below I have listed some great neutral picks, so check them out and see what you think!

Its official, Team Coach handbags has hired some poets to join their design team. From observing the finishing product, I’m not sure what to think about the “Poppy Is Glam” tote. Sure it’s creative, and some bagista’s don’t mind carrying scribbles and logos on their handbags. But somehow, I don’t see much artistic feel to this tote; it appears to look more like a cut-magazine-letters-and-paste-on-a-bag, project.

When you’re carry a tote with letters around, you’re bound to attract some readers, and the poetic inscription of “Poppy is a girl, is a flower, is a state of mind, Poppy is now and forever, Poppy is love I am Poppy”, isn’t necessarily the brightest statement most would want to advertise.

To add more dazzle to this statement making tote  Coach bags adds a bright aqua and glimmery silver trimmed double handles that screams fun summer bag, that’s if you like this look. Look beyond the funky letters and white classic C’s lines the fabric, that way everyone will know that this is in fact your fun and casual Coach bags.

The $198 price tag is fairly reasonable, but personally, I would much rather invest on one of the more classic pieces that Coach Purses has to offer

Hollywood stars have joined Asian celebrities in designing tote bags to celebrate the opening of Coach’s new Shanghai store, one of 15 new Coach handbags boutiques in China. The one-of-a-kind bags are being auctioned to benefit the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, an organization which gives scholarships to young people from Hong Kong.

The celebs, which included Twilight’s Kristen Stewart, Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria, and Heidi Klum, were given a blank canvas and creative license to make their totes true originals. America Ferrera’s bag features her Ugly Betty character’s famous red glasses, while Jodie Foster’s has a picture of Planet Earth. Jennifer Aniston has gotten spiritual with her Buddha design, while Lucy Liu’s has an elegant black and white tiger.

All of the Star Totes are up for auction on the Coach bags China website. Bidders from around the world are encouraged to participate, but bids must be placed by calling the Chinese number 400-88-9963. If you want one you’ll have to get in quick, as the auction closes on May 13.

For a brand that has both mass and niche appeal, I think Coach handbags does a great job of always being innovative–if not kitschy–with such past collaborations with Eugenia Kim, Phillip Lim, Kiki Smith and Lutz & Patmos.

To wit, the American leathergoods firm has just launched a beach-themed collection featuring illustrations designed by Pierre Le-Tan  inspired by seaside motifs and details. Limited edition in nature–naturally–the large bucket tote and a sling version have already sold out, but I happen to love the three coach bags versions as well featuring seahorse, cabana and umbrella motifs.

Each features patent leather trim handles (9 1/4″ drop) that accent the tote, while inside there’s one zip pocket, a cell phone pocket and an open turnlock closure to keep your valuables secure. My favorite two are the cabana and umbrella totes because, while they are emblazoned with the Coach bags name on front, are somewhat more discreet than the seahorse tote.

I also love the contrasting tag detail by the straps that feature, for example, a starfish with the beach umbrella. A delightfully whimsical tote for a fun summer outing!

We’ve seen how Coach ventures away from their classic design these days; but to those who still have penchant for their classic check print yet also want something new from the brand, perhaps this coach handbags with Floral Overlay could be just what you’re looking for.
